Love Starts Here
(Use a personal gesture as you tell your higher power in your own words you are giving them your heart, mind, body, and spirit.)
Though the mountains fall away
and the hills be shaken,
My love shall never fall away from you
nor my covenant of peace be shaken,
says the LORD, who has mercy on you. (Isaiah 54:10)
Can a mother forget her infant,
be without tenderness for the child of her womb?
Even should she forget,
I will never forget you.
See, upon the palms of my hands I have engraved you; (Isaiah 49:15-16)
Do not fear: I am with you;
do not be anxious: I am your God.
I will strengthen you, I will help you,
I will uphold you with my victorious right hand. (Isaiah 41:10)
For I am the LORD, your God,
who grasp your right hand;
It is I who say to you, Do not fear,
I will help you. (Psalm 41:13)
Do not fear, for I have redeemed you;
I have called you by name: you are mine.
When you pass through waters, I will be with you;
through rivers, you shall not be swept away.
When you walk through fire, you shall not be burned,
nor will flames consume you.
For I, the LORD, am your God,
the Holy One of Israel, your savior. (Isaiah 43:1-3)
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “
plans to prosper you and not to harm you,
plans to give you hope and a future. (Jeremiah 29:11)
I urge you therefore, brothers and sisters,
by the mercies of God,
to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice,
holy and pleasing to God, your spiritual worship.
Do not conform yourselves to this age
but be transformed by the renewal of your mind,
that you may discern what is the will of God,
what is good and pleasing and perfect. (Romans 12:1-2)
Have no anxiety at all, but in everything,
by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving,
make your requests known to God.
Then the peace of God that surpasses all understanding
will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. (Phillipians 4:6-7)
God is love and so are you
Love is patient, love is kind. It is not jealous, [love] is not pompous, it is not inflated, it is not rude, it does not seek its own interests, it is not quick-tempered, it does not brood over injury, it does not rejoice over wrongdoing but rejoices with the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. (1 Corinthians 13:4-7)
There is no fear in love, but perfect love drives out fear because fear has to do with punishment, and so one who fears is not yet perfect in love. (1 John 4:18)
The LORD, your God, is in your midst, a mighty savior, Who will rejoice over you with gladness, and renew you in his love, Who will sing joyfully because of YOU. (Zephaniah 3:17)
Whenever you're sad, confused, or in despair, remember Jesus said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” (John 8:12)
Then give him your heart, mind, body and spirit and ask him to guide you out of the darkness into the light of God's love. Look for his light and keep following it.
Listen to his eternal prayer for you, “I pray not only for them, but also for those who will believe in me through their word, so that they may all be one, as you, Father, are in me and I in you, that they also may be in us, that the world may believe that you sent me. And I have given them the glory you gave me, so that they may be one, as we are one. (John 17:20-22)
I have told you this so that you might have peace in me. In the world you will have trouble, but take courage, I have conquered the world.” (John 16:33)
When Lazarus died, Jesus cried and in the garden of Gethsemane, he prayed for strength. Ask him to join you now in your prayer for the strength you need today in your own words.
(Pause & pray for the strength you need today.)
Hear Jesus saying, “Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart; and you will find rest for yourselves. For my yoke is easy, and my burden light.” (Matthew 11:28-30)
Do not let your hearts be troubled.
You have faith in God; have faith also in me. (John 14:1)
As the Father loves me, so I also love you. Remain in my love. (John 15:9)
God loved you into life. He made you lovable. He made you MORE than enough. God the Father and Jesus love you for who you are right now. Reflect on all this as you hear Jesus say, “It was not you who chose me, but I who chose you.” Accept his unconditional love, hold onto it, and never let go.
“My soul, wait silently for God alone, for my expectation is from Him. He only is my rock and my salvation; He is my defense; I shall not be moved. In God is my salvation and my glory; the rock of my strength, And my refuge, is in God. (Psalm 62:6-8)
What are three things you are thankful to God for today?
(Pause now and thank God for them.)
Empower yourself. Choose to feel glad today, and ignore the pessimists. When you meet one, take a deep breath, and see yourself holding onto Jesus and God's love. Turn your back on their nonsense, and walk away or focus your attention on God and ask for His guidance.
This is the day the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad. (Psalm 118:24).
Take the words of St. Paul and make them your own. Say, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” (Philippians 4:13)
You are NEVER alone. Let Jesus console you as you hear him say, “And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:20)
Jesus, God, and the Holy Spirit are always just a whisper away.
Hear the Holy Spirit whisper, “You are beautiful in every way, my friend, there is no flaw in you!” (Song of Songs 4:7)
